However, in a society that values the extraordinary, self-doubt is far more likely to develop a chronic condition. When this happens, we tend to "get in our own way" and have a hard time appreciating the positive aspects of ourselves. This is a dangerous form of self-doubt. It's tough to stay motivated when we can't recognise our own positive traits.
