Beings who are expected to behave and be a certain way. Are asked to ‘’Man up’’ when they’re under mental pressure or even sad. They are expected to be strong and bottle up their feelings because ‘’men don’t cry’’. Just the phrase “man up” is perpetuating misogyny with those two simple words. It implies that one can be more or less of a man based on behaviour.
To shed more light on this topic, we have a small video from our co-founder Keerti Bohara, speaking about how ‘’MEN ARE BEAUTIFUL’’ in their own way.
Dear men,
It is OK to cry, whether you’re around people or alone.
Asking for help does NOT make you less of a man.
Admitting you have mental health problem does NOT make you a mess of a man.
Showing your emotions does NOT make you less of a man.
You are a human first, it is okay to not feel okay.
These actions make you MORE of a man so do NOT suffer in silence.
You are NOT alone. You are BEAUTIFUL. More power yo you.
