Men - It's Time To Maintain Your Mental Health

Men's mental health is a taboo issue, with many suffering in silence. Gender conformity, social standards place pressure on men to be ‘tough' and ‘strong,' leaving many men unwilling to confess their troubles in public and unwilling to seek treatment. If we are to achieve any success, we must first overcome this stigma. It is important to recognise the indicators of poor mental health and to urge everyone, especially men, to express their feelings and seek treatment. We have compiled a list of lifestyle recommendations that may be useful to you in your life.

1. Talk it out

Whether it's your parents, spouse, friend, or therapist, it's critical that you find at least one person to whom you can open up whether you're dealing with a mental health condition, another health condition, or any other situation that's weighing heavily on your mind. If you don't have anybody to confide in then you could even speak to someone anonymously. If you wish to speak to someone and lighten your burden, then contact us.

2. Ask for help

We understand that sometimes you find it difficult to ask for help, and this is a huge issue in many aspects of your health. From ignoring a sickness to refusing to accept or work on mental health issues, avoidance is not going to assist anybody. So, the next time you feel physically or emotionally unwell, please don't be afraid to get treatment, since things might get a lot worse when ignored or kept aloof.

3. Support men's movements and charities that challenge oppressive stereotypes

Encouraging and becoming involved with supporting men's initiatives and charities is a terrific approach to creating a pleasant environment. It is reassuring to know that you are not alone and that there are many other men going through the same thing. Supporting these causes can really make a difference and also enhance your mental peace

4. Cry it out

Real men Cry. Not only is it ok to cry, but it’s healthy. Crying can be so freeing. It’s an emotion we were born with, just like laughing, so do not try to suppress it. It's ok to cry when you’re watching a good movie when you see a beautiful sunrise when you have tough conversations with your dear one and especially when you feel hurt emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. So, stop suppressing your emotions, and lean into them. Let yourself cry and watch the freedom that comes. Start sharing how you feel and allow yourself to heal.

We hope you try out our recommendations and break free from societal norms to embrace your true self. Always remember, you are beautiful, strong and extremely loved. More power to you 🙂
